Jekk tixtieq tara l-kosta tal-punent ta’ Għawdex inħajruk tagħmel mixja matul l-irdumijiet li jinsabu bejn Ras il-Wardija u l-Qawra. Aqbad it-triq li mir-Rabat tieħdok lejn il-Kerċem u wara li tgħaddi minn dan ir-raħal iġbed lejn l-Għadira ta’ Sarraflu. Mit-triq, fuq ix-xellug, tara taħtek r-raħal tax-Xlendi u t-torri ta’ l-għassa mibni fi żmien il-Kavallieri. Kif tasal l-Għadira agħmel waqfa qasira biex tkun tista’ tistudja l-ħajja għaddejja fl-għadira u madwarha. L-għadira ta’ l-ilma ħelu toffri ambjent ideali matul l-istaġuni kollha tas-sena għal varjetà kbira ta’ flora u fawna bħal mazzarell, friefet il-lejl, għasafar, żringijiet u pjanti li jridu hafna ilma, bhall-buda. Wara dil-waqfa qasira għandek għażla : jew taqbad it-triq fuq il-lemin li tati għal barrieri enormi tal-franka jew il-mogħdija li twasslek Ras il-Wardija fejn, fit-tarf ta’ l-irdum, hemm fdalijiet Puniċi  Minn hawn tilmaħ il-Ħaġra tal-Ġeneral, it-torri tal-Kavallieri, l-irdum ta’ fuq il-Qawra, it-Tieqa Żerka u fil-bogħod il-kap ta’ San Dimitri. Imxi fid-direzzjoni tal-Qawra sakemm tasal fil-bajja tonda tad-Dwejra bil-port ċkejken fuq ġewwa u bil-Ħaġra fid-daħla tal-bajja. Żomm mat-tarf ta’ l-irdum u iġbed għat-Torri tad-Dwejra mibni fis-seklu sbatax. Minn hawn aqbad il-mogħdija li twasslek il-Qawra; osserva li l-blat ta’ taħt saqajk mimli fossili. Meta tasal fil-car park aqbad it-telgħa minn wara l-kappella ddedikata lil Sant’Anna sakemm tiltaqa’ ma’ par raddet ir-roti (“cart ruts”) li jmorru lura eluf ta’ snin. Taraġ maqtugħ fil-blat iwasslek għal mogħdija li minnha tista’ tgawdi l-isbaħ veduta tal-Qawra. 

The west coast can best be seen by walking along the cliff between ras il- wardija and il- Qawra. Start off from Rabat, taking the road to l- Ghadira ta' Sarraflu by way of kercem. As you walk towards Ta' Sarraflu along the cliff road to the left can be seen the village of Xlendi with its coastal watch tower . the small fresh water pond at Ta' Sarraflu provides a permanent habitat for dragonflies, bats, birds and frogs as well as for water loving plants such as the southern Reed Mace. Leaving the pond one can take the road on the right hand going past impressive limestone quarries or the rough track on the left leading to Ras il- wardija with its mysterious punic remains. From Ras il- Wardija one catches a first glimpse of Fungus Rock, the Knights' Dwejra Tower, the cliff over hanging the inland Sea, The Azure Window and the S Dimitri Headland. Walking northward you will come to the circulae basin of Id- Dwejra with its small harbour and with Fungus Rock at its Entrance. Keep to the cliff path and walk past the small waterfall towards the seventeenth century coastal watch tower towards the Inland Sea, nothing on the way the fossil beds under your feet. From the car park you can walk up the hill behind the small chapel dedicated to st. Annne until you reach the ancient cart ruts. a flight of rock cut steps leads to a path which will provide you with an aerial view of the Inland Sea.

Der beste Weg die Westküste zu erkundschaften ist der Weg entlang den Klippen zwischen Ras il-Wardija und Il-Qawra. Starten sie von Rabat aus und gehen Sie dann die Straße L-Ghadira ta´Sarraflu über Kercem. Während Sie in Richtung Ta´Sarraflu auf der Küstenstraße gehen können Sie linker Hand das Dorf Xlendi mit dessen Küstenwachturm sehen. Der kleine Frischwasserteich in Ta ' Sarraflu stellt einen dauerhaften Lebensraum für Libellen, Fledermäuse, Vögel und Frösche sowie für wasserliebende Pflanzen wie das „Southern reed mace“ dar. Von diesem Teich ausgehend können Sie entweder den Weg rechter Hand nehmen der an imposanten Kalksteinbrüchen entlang führt oder Sie nehmen den etwas abenteuerlicheren Weg über „Stock und Stein“ linker Hand der nach Ras il-Wardija führt wo Sie geheimnisvolle kulturelle Überreste aus der Zeit der Punier erleben können. Von Ras il-Wardija können Sie dann auch den ersten Blick auf den „Fungus“ Felsen (Fungus Rock), den Dwejra Wachturm der Ritter, die Meer überhängenden Klippen, das azurblaue Fenster (azur window) und auf die Landzunge S Dimitri erhaschen. Richtung Norden kommen Sie zu dem kreisförmigen Bassin von Id-Dwejra mit dessen kleinem Hafen und dem „Fungus“ Felsen an der Einfahrt. Bleiben Sie auf dem „Klippen-Pfad“, passieren Sie den kleinen Wasserfall, gehen Sie auf dem im 17. Jahrhundert entstandenen Küstenwachturm zu in Richtung Innland See und achten Sie dabei auf die fossilhaltige Steinschicht unter Ihren Füßen. Von dem Parkplatz aus können Sie den Hügel hinauf gehen bis sie hinter der kleinen Kappelle die St. Anne gewidmet ist die alten „Karrenspuren“ (cart ruts) erreichen. Die in einer Flucht verlaufenden Steinstufen führen zu einem Pfad auf dem Sie die Aussicht auf das gesamte Gebiet genießen können.

C’est en marchant le long de la falaise entre Ras il-Wardija an Il-Qawra que la cote OUEST peut etre le plus apprécié. Au départ de Rabat, prendre la route de L-Ghadira ta’ Sarraflu par la chemin de Kercem. En marchant sur la route de la falaise en direction de Ta’ Sarraflu on peut apercevoir sur le gauche le village de Xlendi avec sa tour de contrôle cotière. Le petit étang d'eau douce à Ta' Sarraflu fournit un habitat permanent pour des libellules, des chauves-souris, des oiseaux et des grenouilles aussi bien que pour les plantes acquatiques telles que les massettes(Typha domingensis). Quitter l’étang et prendre la route sur la droite passant devant les  impressionantes carrières de pierres à chaux ou le chemin caillouteu sur la gauche de Ras il-Wardija avec ces mysterieux vestiges Punic. De Ras il-Wardija on peut avoir un premier aperçu de Fungus Rock, la tour des chevalier de Dwerja, les falaises surplombants la mer interieure,  « the blue window  » et le promontoire de St Dimitri. Plus au Nord, la marche vous menera au bassin circulaire de Dwerja avec son petit port et au premier plan Fungus Rock.Rester sur le chemin de la falaise, depassez la petite chute d’eau en direction de la tour de garde cotiere datant du 17 ème siècle proche de la mer intérieure, sur le chemin vous pourrez constater sous vos pieds un lit de fossiles. Du parking, vous pouvez marcher vers le haut de la colline derriere la petite chapel dédiée à St Anne jusqu’à ce que vous atteignez les « cart ruts » (mysterieuses traces de chariot). Une détour rapide sur les rochers vous permettra d’avoir une vue superieure de la mer interieure.

La costa occidentale può essere esplorata al meglio camminando lungo la scogliera tra ras il-wardija e il-Qawra. Partendo da Rabat, si imbocca la strada per l-Ghadira ta’ Sarraflu via kercem. Proseguendo verso Ta’Sarraflu lungo la via costiera, sulla sinistra si può vedere il villaggio di Xlendi con la sua torre costiera d’avvistamento. Il piccolo laghetto di acqua fresca a Ta’Sarraflu fornisce un habitat permanente sia per le libellule, i pipistrelli, gli uccelli e le rane, sia per le piante acquatiche come il macis a lamella del sud. Superato lo stagno, si prende la strada sulla destra che costeggia impressionanti cave calcaree o il sentiero accidentato sulla sinistra, che porta a Ras il-wardija, con i suoi misteriosi resti punici.

Da Ras il- Wardija si ha una prima visuale della Fungus Rock, della torre dei cavalieri di Dwejra, della scogliera sopra il mare interno, della Finestra Azzurra e del promontorio di San Dimitri.

Camminando verso nord, si può vedere il bacino circolare/rotondo di Id-Dwejra con il suo piccolo porto e con la Fungus Rock all’ingresso. Mantenere il sentiero sulla scogliera e superare la piccola cascata in direzione della secentesca torre costiera d’avvistamento in direzione del mare interno, prestando attenzione lungo il percorso al letto di fossili sul suolo.

Dal parcheggio si può inoltre risalire la collina dietro alla piccola cappella dedicata a Sant’Anna, fino a raggiungere gli antichi solchi carrai. Con una breve passeggiata lungo il crinale roccioso si raggiunge un sentiero
che offre una veduta aerea del mare interno.
